It seems appropriate that there’s a double “p” in Recolon Jumpp’s surname – a perfect way to underscore the pizzazz and personality that this 5-year-old from Orlando has in abundance. Those qualities virtually “jumpp” from his beaming, friendly face with anyone he meets. You’d be hard-pressed to see any signs of the dangerous blood disorder that almost cost him his life just a few short years ago.
That’s because it no longer exists, thanks to pediatric hematologist-oncologist Dr. Greg Hale and the physicians at the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute. Dr. Hale found – after an expanded nationwide search – a near perfect match for Recolon’s cord blood transplant.
